A locally guided tour of Classical Rome will allow you to discover famous sights such as the Baths of Caracalla, the legendary Aventine and Palatine Hills, the ancient Circus Maximus, and the Arch of Constantine. During an in-depth visit to the Colosseum, your guide recounts its rich history. Travel to Assisi, birthplace of St. Francis. Take in the old-world atmosphere on a guided walking tour of the old city, including the Basilica of St. Francis. Then you’re off to medieval Perugia, the historic capital of Umbria, location of the Piazza IV Novembre – one of the grandest squares in Italy.
Visit sunny Tuscany with its graceful low-lying hills and narrow Gothic streets. Explore the medieval corners of Siena and visit the David by Michelangelo in Florence, the “Cradle of the Italian Renaissance.” See the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Church of Santa Croce, and visit a historic winery in the heart of the Chianti region and see the Apennine Mountains and beautiful Venice, including a glass blowing demonstration on Murano Island.
